Brian was lucky to get a real piece of cake with a candle for his birthday. I remember one year my friend told the ship ahead of time that it was my husband's birthday and they brought a beautiful cake over to the table and several to other tables celebrating occasions. The other couple at our table was excited to be getting a piece of it because they said it looked wonderful. When the waiter (or assistant waiter) went to remove the cake (I assumed to cut it) he asked what we would like for dessert. We all said we would have a slice of the birthday cake. He told us it wasn't real, just a plastic cake. I couldn't believe they did that. We have celebrated several more of my husband's birthdays on cruises and it has never happened again. We still laugh about it.
Looks like you guys had a blast... glad you guys made it back in one piece!
